Into the desert *DEPRECIATED*

Stu reaches over and pinches Dahlia's wing between two fingers.

"I don't know where you come from, but where I come from, this is what an insect feels like."

"You can make explosive runes?" Elros says to Stu

Dahlia lightly swats at Stu's hand. "Shush! I know they're not pretty wings..." She tugs them around her body, wrapping herself in them. "...but they're mine. And I love them."

"Yes I can, Its really quite an interesting prospect. One minute your mind is lost in a tome, the next is lost in about 100 places around your corpse!" Stu says gleefully.

Stu turns back to Dahlia, "Whatever you say..."

Stu turns his gaze back off into the distance.

"Could they work like a mine?" Elros says with a devilish grin

"Where I'm from," Dahlia releases her wings so the fire can warm them again. "Wings like this are actually rare. Pure, incect-y wings."

"Well... if I were to attempt to dispel and 'accidentally' screw up my hand gestures, I could set it off from a distance... in theory.



...It could just end up blowing us all up though." Stu takes a moment to ponder this.

"Let's not test it, hmm?"

"Ya never mind" he says

Stu turns back to Dahlia.

"Their rare, you say? So you're a freak then!" Stu laughs to himself.


He composes himself rather quickly, "Well, alright then. I was kind of hoping I could blow something up." Stu says in a defeated voice.

"In a good way!" Dahlia snaps. She kicks at the dirt around her feet.

"Ok, you're a good freak, then.


Hmmm... freak is only 5 letters... I'll remember that." Stu smirks.

"Meanie." Dahlia flicks a pebble at him.

Stu uses his Telekinesis to lift a 5 pound rock and drops it inches from where Dahlia is sitting.

Without turning his head to face her, "Oops."

She keeps her eyes locked on the ground. "It's so quiet out here now. It's weird."

"It is and thats a good thing.

So. Even insects have a home. Whats yours?"

"My home." Dahlia's face darkens. "My home is... It's a place not too unlike this, actually." She begins doodling with a finger in the dirt. "I haven't been there in almost two years. I doubt they miss me."

"And why is that?"

"I... I doubt they'd welcome me back." Dahlia shakes her head like a dog trying to clear water from its ears. "I can't go back there."

"Thats a bit... sketchy... on details."

"But suit yourself."

"I'm sorry that I don't particularly feel like sharing my life story with you quite yet." Dahlia's voice softens. "What do you want to know? That I'm the second born daughter of a pixie queen? That my sister gets the throne and I get thrown to the streets like garbage because I can't use magic?" She throws a stone into the darkness. "My tale isn't a happy one." She stands, brushing herself off, turns around, and faces the fire. "But I'm doing what I can now to break it."

"Alrighty then" Stu says sarcastically.

Dahlia mutters something about getting a drink from the river. She grabs a small branch, lights the end of it on fire as a makeshift torch, then sets off.

"Don't get horribly maimed and killed by whatevers out there while you're gone" Stu yells.

"I still need company!"

Dahlia returns about ten minutess later, throwing her branch onto the fire. The hair around her face is dripping.
