"You could always have Sarabi rub his glove on your forehead."

"Beer doesn't make me take all my clothes off and allow me to believe I'm an earthworm" Stu laughs. He pauses a moment to think.


"Well... the first one of the two is sorta... eh, never mind."

"I was actually an earthworm, a pterodactyl, an owl, a beaver, a caterpillar, a poor person..." Dahlia ticks things off on her fingers.

Stu shivers, "That was more of you than I ever wanted to see."

"I'd really rather not be put in that position ever again." Dahlia makes a face.

Stu laughs quietly, "Though that was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time, I don't know how old you are, but I've lived long enough to see a lot of funny things.

That was certainly up there on the charts."

"I'm nineteen." Dahlia informs her feet.

"Nineteen and already running around naked pretending you're thinking what you're not...

Getting a good start, eh?

How old does your kind live, anyways?" Stu questions.

"We're Fey. Some of us live for very, very long times. We don't die natural deaths, we can only be killed through injury or disease." Dahlia stares into the fire. "Most pixies live to about 200, though. No king or queen in my village has ever lived past 300."

Stu smiles for a moment, "Then I suppose we have more in common than I once thought."

"That we do." Dahlia smiles. "More than just being short."

"Gnomes... Dwarfs.. they are similar, and thats why we get along.

We were both created from the stone that makes up this world. And that common ancestry draws us together, as well as our stature.

Your kind... your kind comes from the forest. A place vastly contrasts the fire and steel of the mountain.

At times I ponder how two races of such differing creation can still be one in the same...


...Well... except for the insect wings..." Stu says to himself.

"And I suppose you're in luck, do you know the length time we define a friendship by?" He questions

"You said once it was 100 years, correct?"

Stu grins, "That is correct."

"I can't say I have a lot of friends, in fact, I find it hard to name one.

Whatever friends I had I lost a long time ago. I left them all behind when I was only 40 years of age.

That was 45 years ago." Stu says grimly.



"But I still look damn good." He chuckles.

"The only friends I have are the ones I've made since I joined this team." Dahlia smiles softly. "But, in comparison to you, I'm still a baby."

"40 years is when a Dwarf is considered an Adult. Even if its lonely, I've learned more than I ever could have hoped.

I would have been able to learn more if thing went differently so many years ago." He says saddened.

Dahlia sighs sympathetically. "Mmm. If only things could have been different... but then none of us would have met."

"I suppose you're right."


He pauses for a moment

Changing the subject, "You know something else I've noticed, you bugfolk enjoy jokes, like most of the Gnomes I've met.

I've never been a fan of them, but maybe you'll make a good Gnome replacement... even if you can't compare to their inventions."

"We love jokes!" Dahlia claps her hands together and giggles. "Pranks, too."

"I'm not like most other Dwarfs you might meet. Most don't enjoy jokes. I, on the other hand am a fan of jokes.


Though most of the times the victims don't see the humor." Looks off to the distance and ponders.

"I mean... so I kill your dog, how can you not see the hilarity of that!" He exclaims.

"That's like this time that I threw this little kid down a well!!" Dahlia sits up straight, giggling. "Well, pushed. It was a shallow well!! But, nooo~. He freaked out!"

"Exactly!" Stu shouts.

"I think the world needs to realize that humor isn't humor unless theres someone to laugh at."

"I'm still not sure about, Pixie. You're no Gnome, but maybe you aren't that far off."

Stu pauses for a few moments more.

"Just know this. Any little joke you try to pull on me will come back to you. Hard." Stu says with a smug look.

"The same goes for you." Dahlia grins devilishly. "Truce, then?"

"I wouldn't go that far. I still want a little wiggle room." Stu says boldly as he imitates Dahlia's expression.

"Then..." She thinks for a moment, then the grin returns. "Partners in crime."
