The road to a village...

Melkor lets out a hearty laugh and lets his pipe die out. Stowing it away, he starts fondling his kukri absentmindedly.

Kiryan lightly mentions, "You know, Melkor, maybe you wouldn't have to go to the whorehouse so often if you weren't so...abrasive." She shakes her head and goes back to watching the scenery pass.

Melkor continues fondling his kukri, switching to Elvish and saying "One does not always need to be abrasive if one does not wish; however, it can be useful when on one's guard." in a smooth accent totally opposite his usual pointed sarcasm.

DM Note: A light wind begins to pick up, and the temperature drops a bit.

Melkor puts away the kukri and takes note of the wind. He says, "Could be a storm, but that would be fairly unusual this time of year..."

Kiryan mumbles down "As if anything we do is usual." She ponders a minute. "Even so, it might be a good idea to get our uh...helpers..inside the carriage if it's going to rain. If they start complaining about the weather, Xananthe might hear them," she mentions quietly, so as to not alert the elf riding just ahead.

Gideon says "Pile in everybody and get cozy"

Melkor says "Hm...I guess I'm the weather forecaster now? I said it might be a storm, not 'HOLY ASS ITS GONNA BE A TORNADOCANE..."

Mhoram chuckles to himself and sits patiently in the corner, observing everything going on around him.

Kiryan lets out a long sigh, and then lifts up the blanket slightly to smile awkwardly at the goblins. "Okay, uh, guys, we need to get you into the carriage. We'll stop soon and talk to the nice elven lady, and you get into the carriage and try to be quiet, okay? Don't get caught, alright?"

Melkor takes out his chain shirt from his pack and begins to repair the chinks from the party's last combat, making noise to cover up the goblins' shuffling into the carriage.

Kiryan calls after Xananthe, "Hey, I think our horses could use a break. Let's rest for a while." The carriage pulls to a slow stop.

Melkor puts on the chain shirt he was working with and gets off the front seat to stretch.

OOG: What time of day is it/what temperature?

Upon feeling the carriage stop, Stu mutters something to himself and steps outside.

He cocks his head and asks "What is going on?"

Melkor, with a slight yawn, says "Stopping for a stretch, and stopping so we can get a better feel for where we're going from Xana...Xana...that chick," pointing to Xananthe.

Kaer looks down at Stu with surprise. "I figured you had stayed back to run 'your' bar."

Melkor smiles. "Well, he did keep the key...ought to make things interesting for when the former barkeep wakes up."

"Bah, this is my bar" Stu mutters with a level of certainty in his voice.

Melkor laughs, remembering that whole shenaniganery.

"If you look about, you may find that we are occupying these fine woods at the moment. Sadly, not a bar for miles." Kaer hops down from the top of the carriage and climbs inside. OOG: For shits and giggles, here, have a dex check to see if she's stepped all over everyone. Mod +4.

Edit, post-roll: Kaer stumbles on the way in and steps on a few fingers.

Melkor looks up to the sky, trying to gauge the time. He says, "If we don't get a move on, we might not make it to the next village by nightfall, and if it storms we don't want to get caught in that."

Gideon says, inagreement, "You are correct sir. Lets get this show on the road"
